What Internet services are available?

Eastern Oregon Technology offers Internet connection through wireless and dial-up services through its subsidiary High Desert Air.  Travelers to the area have access through High Desert Air, and can have their service charged directly to their credit card.

High Desert Air services are available to everyone in the county. Wireless customers must be in our ever-expanding signal area.

How much does it cost for wireless Internet services or dial-up services?

Monthly fees vary from $30 to $50 per month for a typical home or business setup, depending on the bandwidth you receive and the method of delivery.  Dial-up Internet access costs $15 per month.  The cost of an optional e-mail account is $1 per month.

Are there any start-up costs?

There are no start-up charges for dial-up services, but there are charges for a basic wireless installation.  Costs may include basic equipment, electricians' fees, and an electrical permit.  Extra equipment needs may be required.  Call 573-4821 for pricing information.

How long does it take to receive service once I sign up?

Dial-up access is typically same-day service.  For wireless access, you will need to schedule a signal test.  Installation can usually be completed within a week of the request in most instances.

What do I need to do to receive wireless services?

You need to be able to receive a signal from one of our towers.  The wireless signal test is conducted at no charge to the customer.  Call 573-4821 to schedule a test.  The customer should also have updated antivirus/malware programs on their computer.
